Information on registering and making appointments for a vaccination against COVID-19
Registration and Appointments
Vaccinations against COVID-19 have been taking place in Bavaria since 27th December 2020. A vaccination is only possible by making an appointment.
Before you can get an appointment, you have to register online on the following page: https://impfzentren.bayern/citizen/.
Firstly, you have to create an account by entering an email address and creating a password. You also need a mobile phone.
You have to provide a mobile phone number. Enter this in the international number format. I.e. with the correct country code. For example + 49 and then without the first 0 of the phone number.
You will then receive an SMS with a code that you have to enter. You are now logged in. You need your mobile phone every time you log in, because you will receive a code by SMS every time which you need to securely login.
You can then log in. Unfortunately the website is only available in German.
After logging in, you must enter your personal data, your occupation and any illnesses you may have. All of this information is important for your prioritization. That determines how soon you can get an appointment for the vaccination.
When you have filled in all the information, registration is complete.
Registration is not yet a vaccination date. Now you have to wait to be contacted by SMS and email as soon as it is your turn.
When you have received this message, you can book two consecutive appointments in your account. You will receive 2 vaccinations. Depending on which vaccine you are receiving, the second appointment is 6 to 12 weeks after the first appointment.
You may be asked to bring confirmations with you (e.g. a certificate from your doctor or a certificate from your employer). Please bring these documents with you to the vaccination.
Vaccination appointment at the vaccination centre
If you have made both appointments, please come to the vaccination centre assigned to you on time for the agreed appointment. It is not necessary to come earlier than agreed
Please bring the following documents with you to the vaccination: Vaccination book (if available), ID card or passport, medication list and other confirmations that you were referred to when registering or booking an appointment. Please wear clothing that you can quickly pull over your upper arm.
Of course, you can bring someone with you to support you.
When you come to the vaccination centre, your temperature will be taken. If you are sick and have a fever you cannot be vaccinated
After registering at the vaccination centre, there is a short film (in German) that explains the vaccination. If you have any questions afterwards, you can still speak to a doctor.
Then you will receive the vaccination. The vaccination is given in the upper arm. You will be observed for a moment after the vaccination. Then you are done, you’ll receive your vaccination documentation and are allowed to go.
At the moment there is a shortage of vaccines. You may not get a vaccination appointment right away and may have to wait. Vaccination is voluntary. You don't have to pay anything for the vaccination.
